2014 Dell Award announcement

By | February 15, 2014

The 2014 Dell Magazines Award has been announced! This award is for undergraduate speculative fiction writers. The award is given at the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts in March, and each winner receives ICFA membership and can attend.

We at Alpha encourage Alphans to submit to the Dell Award; ICFA is a great experience, Sheila Williams and Rick Wilber, who run the award, are fantastic, and who doesn’t love seeing their friends succeed? Look at the list of past winners— you’ll see a lot of familiar names there. This year, three Alphans were honored.

Jameyanne Fuller’s story “The Year of Salted Skies” was awarded third runner-up.

Alexandra Gurel’s “The Fire in the Sky” won an honorable mention.

Kayla Chronister was also awarded an honorable mention for her story “Swans and Ravens”.

Huge congratulations to these Alphans and all this year’s winners!
